A war thriller directed by Stanley Kubrick. There is a military conflict in an unidentified country. Four soldiers survived after the plane crash, but they crossed the front line and must stay alive in a hostile environment in the middle of the forest. They want to build a raft and run the river, and then under the cover of the night flow back to the friendly territory. However, the escape plan turns out to be more difficult than they could have imagined.
