When Martha was a young girl she accidentally murdered her aunt who was her guardian. The only witness to the crime was her friend Walter. To make sure her secret will remain hidden she marries Walter, even though the marriage is one sided. Her plans turn around when their childhood friend Sam unexpectedly returns to town.
