Lukas Nino (Lukas the Strange) follows an awkward teenager facing his initiation into manhood as a film crew descends on his village. After being told his father is a tikbalang—half horse, half man—Lukas begins to question his own nature when his father disappears. As the village is swept up in movie fever, a legend emerges about a mystical river that erases painful memories. Narrated by Lukas' friend Lorena, the film blends myth, coming-of-age, and imagination.
